EBM creates implementation plans based on an individual institution's unique details. Once an operational plan for implementation has been created, EBM's System Integrators put it into action. Every EBM PACS System makes use of custom interface software to connect to the hospital's existing information systems. Therefore the first task is to analyze an institution's HIS and RIS to determine what requirements the software must meet, in order to provide a specifications document to our programming team. With that document, the programmers can begin work on the client's custom interface.

The network is also critical to the performance of the finished, implemented system. The Sytem Integrator's job here is to test the hospital's existing network, and provide recommendations for necessary upgrades or a new installation.

Next, all of an institution's modalities are tested for DICOM compliance. Those that are not DICOM-ready are noted, so that a UniGate?or other solution can integrate them into the system. At the end of this phase, a plan exists for what components will be tied into a client's EBM PACS System, and how. Finally, the completed plan is evaluated to ensure that the final implementation will meet the institution's workflow and connectivity goals. Now, the installation itself is largely a formality - usually completed in a single weekend to minimize impact on the hospital's operations.
